Tribal Rising has been an image in process since my earlier years back in college. Right out of high school I studied art. I was so excited to learn it all! The lesson of the day: Abstract. I started with the basic structure of the image of a Native American on a horse hunting a bison with a bow and arrow. It was becoming too realistic and my art teacher told me I need to work on making different shapes so it doesn’t look so real. I completed the project with great displeasure.
I still have the painting and I feel it has haunted me ever since. It was the ugliest thing I have ever made. I decided to share the new image that has evolved many times mainly due to a dream I had hence the new creation. The original work has opened my mind to develop a style of work. I am quite happier these days.
Please note that the photos may be slightly different color due to computer screens and paintings on display. This original piece is not framed.
